Overview
As Head Athletic Trainer, reporting to the Director of Operations and Head Coach, the employee will perform duties as a Certified Head Athletic Trainer managing the health care of players, including first aid, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and prevention programs. The role involves travel with the team for all matches, coordination with medical and coaching staff, and oversight of training room operations.
Responsibilities
["Performs as Certified Head Athletic Trainer duties in managing the health care of players including first aid, emergency care, injury evaluation, modalities, rehabilitation and prevention programs, and medical referrals.","Work all Miami FC home matches and travel on all road trips with the team.","Communicate effectively with medical staff, coaches and athletes.","Provide practice and game coverage including travel.","Assist the Sports Performance department in planning, delivering and evaluating physical development sessions.","Maintain computerized injury and treatment logs and share with technical staff daily.","Assist with practical implementation of appropriate nutrition and hydration strategies for players.","Prepare field for practices and games.","Assist with periodization of off-season, preseason, and in-season programs.","Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for players.","Assist in engagement, development, and management of Miami FC training staff, including student athletic trainers.","Comply with OSHA standards regarding blood borne pathogens.","Order, maintain and inventory supplies and clinical equipment.","Keep training room and clinic area safe, clean and organized.","Maintain up to date roster of player health and participation records in the League-provided electronic medical record system.","Electronically document first report of injury, player treatments, and return to play dates.","Establish and maintain positive training room culture.","Compile reports as required by USL.","Provide medical assistance to the Team Physician.","Assist organization and maintenance of pharmaceutical inventory and records under supervising Physician.","Supervise assistant trainers, aides and volunteers as applicable.","Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, other team personnel and USL staff.","Record keeping and documentation of sport science statistics, injury reports, rehabilitation programs and doctor recommendations; manage player status reports to USL.","Counsel players regarding dietary needs, nutritional supplements and League/FIFA banned substances.","Participate in community service/educational programs related to sports medicine.","Participate in activities/meetings/programs as required by USL.","Work with Human Resources to submit timely and accurate injury reports.","Perform other duties as assigned or required."]
